Description: Forsythia is an easy to grow, very colorful, spring flowering shrub. There are several different forms - compact and dwarf, upright and spreading, compact  or wide spreading, and usually arching.  The assorted ones available to us are upright and spreading.
Flower: .Abundant star shaped bright golden yellow in colored flowers in early to late spring
Foliage: Green, toothed, lance-shaped leaves leaves after flowering
Misc. info: Forsythias bloom on wood grown the previous year.  For this reason the proper time to prune them is immediately after flowering.

Zone: 5-9

Site: Any ordinary garden soil.  They are easy to transplant.  Thrive in sun and light shade
